Key Points to Remember
- ✅ Sajdah is obligatory (a pillar/rukn) of Salah, performed twice in every rakʿah with a brief sitting (jalsah) between the two.
- ✅ Seven body parts must touch the ground: the forehead (with the nose), two palms, two knees, and the toes of both feet.
- ✅ Go down calmly — hands… knees per some schools, knees then hands per others — and remain still; the tasbīḥ is said a minimum of three times (an odd number).
- ✅ Men keep the elbows raised off the ground and away from the sides; in the Ḥanafī school, women keep the body low and compact with the arms close.
