Posture 3a. Al-Qiyam (The Standing)
سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلَٰهَ غَيْرُكَ

| Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise belongs to You; blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no God worthy of worship besides You. |

Key Points to Remember
- ✅ Standing (Qiyām) is obligatory (a pillar/rukn) of the farḍ prayer for those physically able; one who cannot stand may pray sitting or lying down.
- ✅ Recitation of Sūrah Al-Fātiḥah is an essential part of every rakʿah.
- ✅ The eyes remain lowered toward the place of prostration, and the recitation must be spoken with the tongue, not merely thought.
- ✅ An additional sūrah is added after Al-Fātiḥah in the first two rakʿahs of the prayer.
